The reigning champs face the regular season leaders in their quest to retain the title

Miami –April 29, 2014-  Deportes Telemundo, the home of Club León, presents the la Liguilla quarterfinals with León vs. Cruz Azul this Wednesday, April 30 at 10:55 PM EST/9:55PM CST/7:55 PST.  The network’s incomparable team of soccer commentators, led by Andrés Cantor, Sammy Sadovnik and Carlos Hermosillo, will narrate the action as León faces off against the best team in regular season play in its quest to win the championship for the second year in a row.  Viewers can catch every minute of the game live on deportestelemundo.com and on mobile devices via the “Deportes Telemundo” app.

Cruz Azul hasn’t won the championship since 1997, when it beat León thanks to a winning goal scored by none other than Deportes Telemundo commentator Carlos Hermosillo.  This Wednesday, the two teams will relive their historic rivalry and Carlos Hermosillo will once again be there, as a member of the Deportes Telemundo sportscasting team.

Cruz Azul dominated the regular season and enters the Liguilla with 11 wins, three ties and three losses, including 28 goals in its favor and 19 against.  León’s scorecard coming into the quarterfinals is six wins, five ties and six losses, with 23 goals in favor and 17 against.
