CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW
“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 – THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST IMPORTANT TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS – AND HOUSEHOLDS ON JUNE 9
“FACE THE NATION” IS UP +7% IN VIEWERS, +33% IN ADULTS 25-54 AND +10% IN HOUSEHOLDS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – and households on Sunday, June 9. The CBS broadcast posted 2.97m viewers, 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 and 2.2/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 66% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +7% in viewers (from 2.78m), +33% in adults 25-54 (from 0.6/03) and +10% in households (from 2.0/06).
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +9% in viewers (3.21m from 2.95m), +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. FACE THE NATION, television year-to-date, is first in viewers, households and adults 25-54 (tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA). CBS News’ Debora Patta reported from South Africa on the health of former President Nelson Mandela. Schieffer also hosted a panel with David Sanger of The New York Times, Rajiv Chandrasekaran of The Washington Post, Joseph Nye of Harvard University and CBS News Correspondent Margaret Brennan.
