NATIONAL NIELSEN RATINGS FOR THE WEEK OF August 11 – August 17, 2014
NFL ON FOX PRESEASON, MASTERCHEF, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, HOTEL HELL and THE SIMPSONS ranked in the Top 20 programs of the week among Adults 18-34. For the week, FOX ranked No. 2 among Adults 18-34 and No. 3 among Adults 18-49.
Overall, FOX had:
- 3 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-49: NFL ON FOX PRESEASON 1 (No. 3), MASTERCHEF (No. 6) and HOTEL HELL (No. 15).
- 5 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-34: NFL ON FOX PRESEASON 1 (No. 1), MASTERCHEF (No. 4), HOTEL HELL (No. 12 tie), SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (No. 12 tie) and SIMPSONS (No. 16).
- 4 of the Top 20 programs among Teens: HOTEL HELL (No. 6 tie), NFL ON FOX PRESEASON 1 (No. 6 tie), SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (No. 10) and MASTERCHEF (No. 13).
- 2 of the Top 20 programs among Total Viewers: NFL ON FOX PRESEASON 1 (No. 12) and MASTERCHEF (No. 19).
Program and Nightly Highlights
Monday: FOX (1.6/5) and Univision tied at No. 1 in broadcast prime, a tick ahead of NBC (1.5/5). MASTERCHEF (1.9/6) tied VH1’s LOVE & HIP HOP ATLANTA and Univision’s QUE VIDA ME ROBO as the No. 1 program of the night. With the addition of the 30-Day Multi-Platform Audience, MASTERCHEF is projected to gain +37% to +48% versus Live +Same Day (7.1 Mil to 7.7 Mil) while Hotel Hell is projected to increase +21% to +37% (4.6 Mil to 5.2 Mil).
Tuesday: FOX (0.6/2) placed No. 6 in broadcast prime with its repeat comedy block: FAMILY GUY repeat (0.7/3), BROOKLYN NINE-NINE repeat (0.6/2), NEW GIRL repeat (0.5/1) and THE MINDY PROJECT repeat (0.5/2).
Wednesday: FOX (1.0/3) tied ABC for fourth place in Wednesday prime. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (1.0/3) remained on par with its recent Adults 18-49 performance (vs. 1.1/4). With the addition of its 30 Day Multi-Platform Audience, So You Think You Can Dance is projected to see a +43% to +53% increase (4.9 Mil to 5.2 Mil) versus Live + Same Day.
Thursday: FOX (0.6/2) and Telemundo tied at No. 5 for the night. The finale of GANG RELATED (0.7/2) was up one-tenth week to week. Gang Related is projected to see a +50% to +71% increase (3.6 Mil to 4.2 Mil) in 30 Day Multi-Platform. A SLEEPY HOLLOW repeat posted a 0.4/2 from 8-9P.
Friday: FOX (0.5/2) ranked No. 6 on Friday. An encore of MASTERCHEF (0.5/2) was followed by a repeat of BONES (preliminary 0.5/2).
Saturday: FOX (0.2/1) was the No. 6 network in broadcast prime. Repeats of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE aired over the 8P hour on Saturday (0.3/1 and 0.3/1) followed by a special repeat of GLEE (0.2/1).
Sunday: FOX ranked No. 1 on Sunday with the NFL PRE-SEASON PRE-KICK/GAME NO. 1: KANSAS CITY/CAROLINA (2.1/7), performing on a par with the NFL PRE-SEASON GAME 2: INDIANAPOLIS/NEW YORK (2.1/7) on the same day last year. AMERICAN DAD ENCORE (0.9/3) and THE SIMPSONS REPEAT SPECIAL (1.1/4) aired before the game from 7-8P.
