via press release:
NBC has matched its highest weeklong 18-49 rating in 17 weeks, since January 7-13, and delivered its biggest total-viewer result since that same week, finishing the week of May 6-12 with a 1.8 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers overall, according to “live plus same day” viewing data from Nielsen Media Research.
The Monday and Tuesday editions of NBC’s “The Voice” ranked #2 and #3 for the week in adults 18-49 among primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, and the Monday “Voice” finished the week #1 on those networks in women 18-34, women 18-49, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11.
NBC’s 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 pulled the network within 0.2 of a rating point of the weeklong win (2.0 for CBS). It’s the fourth week in a row NBC has finished within 0.1-0.3 of a point of first place in 18-49.
Versus the same week last year, NBC was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.7), while ABC, CBS and Fox were each down by double-digit percentages. In total viewers, NBC was up 2 percent versus the same week last year (5.7 million vs. 5.6 million), while ABC, CBS and Fox were each down.
For a seventh straight week, both regular editions of “The Voice” topped both telecasts of “American Idol” in adults 18-49. Last week’s Monday and Tuesday “Voice” telecasts averaged a 4.1 and 3.7 respectively in 18-49, while “Idol” earned a 2.9 with both editions. A special Wednesday “Voice” results show averaged a 2.8 and beat the “Idol” competition show in their head-to-head hour.
