GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4 ON DISCOVERY WITH NFL IN SEASON –STEELERS VS. VIKINGS
(NEW YORK, NY) – For the first time ever, Discovery cameras were given unprecedented, in-season access to two NFL franchises, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings, as they prepared for the NFL International series at Wembley Stadium. Viewers and fans will get a fly-on-the-wall look into both team’s meetings, practices and locker room banter as they come up with their game plan for a must win game across the pond. NFL IN SEASON – STEELERS VS. VIKINGS premieres Friday, October 4 at 10 PM ET/PT on Discovery.
From the producers of Hard Knocks, Discovery Channel captured every moment as these teams prepared to go head-to-head. Each team approached the international game differently – with the Vikings choosing to arrive in London a week before the game to get acclimated and the Steelers treating the game as a typical away game, business as usual, and arrived last-minute, the two teams had different strategies. From the Vikings’ eleventh hour QB decision between Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel to the Steelers’ running back Le’Veon Bell’s career debut, cameras roll on critical moments that can make or break the outcome of the game. It’s not all blood, sweat and tears in London as cameras capture lighter moments including, Vikings Jared Allen and Matt Cassel playing golf on a British links course, Steelers Brett Keisel and Shaun Suisham going souvenir shopping in London and much more. The special will also air on Discovery Channel in 224 countries and territories around the world.
This year marks the first time two regular season games will be played in the UK as part of the NFL International Series. On Sunday, October 27, the Jacksonville Jaguars will host the San Francisco 49ers which will air on Discovery Channel on Friday November 1 at 10 PM ET/PT.
