“The View” Commemorates the 10th Anniversary of September 11

With a Special Broadcast, September 9

Celebrating its 15th season, live, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), “The View” continues its original promise of five women, diverse points of view, tackling the hottest topics in the news. This formula has proven to continually deliver “one extraordinary show.” Often imitated but never duplicated, “The View” is a pop culture phenomenon and a certified part of the American zeitgeist, thereby establishing that “there is no show like ‘The View.’”

The season premiere unveils, for the first time, an entirely new state-of-the-art set, unlike anything viewers have seen before or might even expect. The shows official website,, celebrates Season 15 with a countdown of the most outrageous moments, running online daily right up to the premiere. In addition, there’s a fun, spirited, humorous, tongue-in-cheek look at some bloopers, blunders, mishaps, goofs and gaffes – a reality of live television — as well as a gallery of the biggest guests and the hottest topics of the past season/year.

“I remember someone joking early on about our 15 minutes being almost up. Well, it’s been 15 years now and the show is stronger than ever. As we head into another political season, ‘The View’ will be the No. 1 destination for the candidates and the discourse our fans expect from us. We have exciting new plans for the show, a fabulous new set, but there’s one thing we won’t be changing — the chemistry that has made us stand out from the pack,” said Bill Geddie, executive producer.

“Love is in the Air” as regular co-hosts Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd discuss the details of their separate August nuptials. Behar shocked the nation with her surprise marriage to Steve Janowitz, her “spousal equivalent” of 29 years. The couple married privately in New York City and, hours later, she tweeted: “Gone Fishing.” Behar will read aloud a humorous list of the Top 10 reasons both she and Janowitz decided to finally tie the knot, and will show exclusive never-before-seen photographs of their marriage. Sherri Shepherd exchanged vows with former fiancé Lamar “Sal” Sally in Chicago during an elaborate ceremony witnessed by friends and family, and fellow co-host and bridesmaid Elisabeth Hasselbeck in attendance.

Kim Kardashian, who recently exchanged vows with Kris Humphries, and her two sisters, Kourtney & Khloe, are the show’s featured guests, live WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7. The trio’s appearance is to promote their Kardashian Kollection of ready to wear apparel, lingerie, jewelry, handbags/wallets, hats/gloves and shoes.

Red, White & View

The show’s on-going campaign kicks into high gear premiere week with appearances from Michael R. Bloomberg and Rudolph W. Giuliani. Both men are shrouded in rumor and speculation that they would consider running in the 2012 presidential election. Bloomberg, however, flatly ruled-out an Independent run.

Michael R. Bloomberg, the 108th Mayor of the City of New York, is the featured guest, live, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6. Bloomberg was first elected to office in November 2001, only two months after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In 2008 he campaigned for an amendment to New York City’s term-limits law, thereby allowing him to run for a third term. His efforts proved successful, winning the 2009 election. Gossip had swirled that Bloomberg would be a possible candidate in the 2008 presidential election or would run as a vice presidential candidate. He did neither.

“The View” commemorates the 10th Anniversary of September 11 with a special one-hour broadcast on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9. On September 10, 2001, “The View” would broadcast its last live show due to the tragic events the following day and the show, returning to the airwaves on September 17. The featured guest on September 9 is Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York City. Giuliani ran for the Republican nomination in the 2008 presidential election, but later withdrew. He is rumored to be considering a run in the 2012 presidential election. The day’s show also includes author Lauren Manning (Unmeasured Strength) and children of victims of 9/11, and co-host Sherri Shepherd will visit both Ground Zero and the site where construction continues on One World Trade Center. Expected to be completed in January 2013, One World Trade Center will become the tallest office building in the United States and among the tallest in the world.

Who can ever forget that enduring image of Marcy Boarders on September 11, 2001, who came to be known as the “Dust Lady,” emerging from a cloud of smoke, covered in ash and pulverized concrete as she fled from the north tower where she worked. Now 10 years later, the former Bank of America employee, whose life had been on a downward spiral since the WTC terrorist attacks, has risen from those ashes and is on the road to recovery. She will recount her story live, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7.

Scheduled guests for the week of September 5-9 are as follows (subject to change):
