TR3S CREATIVE NOMINATED BY THE 2012 IMAGEN FOUNDATION
NETWORK’S 25th ANNIVERSARY HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CAMPAIGN, ‘COOLTURISTAS’, UP FOR BEST ON-AIR ADVERTISING
Miami, FL. JUNE 26th, 2012 – Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más, the bilingual/bicultural entertainment destination for Latinos in the US, receives a creative nomination from the Imagen Awards for its 2011 brand campaign, Coolturistas, in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Hispanic Heritage Month. The 27th annual Imagen Awards recognize and reward positive portrayals of Latinos in all forms of media, as well as encourage and recognize the achievements of Latinos in the entertainment and communications industries. This is network’s third nomination following multiple wins in the Best Reality Series category for its culturally-relevant “Quiero Mi” franchise.
The campaign recognized Latino influencers in the US who are making waves in fashion, music, art and food. In honor of the 25th anniversary of Hispanic Heritage month, Tr3s selected a group of inspiring Latinos who thread Hispanic influences into the fabric of American culture. The list included music genius Fernando Garibay, Arizona’s immigration movement artist Ernesto Yerena, innovative sibling-designers PAVON, Afro-Mexican fashion designer Zoe Damacela, Post-Modern Cartoon Expressionist LEBO & the Food Network’s Mexican chef Marcela Valladolid. The nominated campaign revealed their journey to success through a series of on-air profiles that debuted never-before-seen footage, photography and exclusive interviews. The Coolturistas campaign was developed and produced by Trevor Lafargue, Creative Director for Tr3s.
