Bill noted that last year’s NAACP Image Awards ran up against the Olympics and had a sub 1.0 adult 18-49 rating, but the prior year pulled a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating. Unlike the major award shows (Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, etc), the Image Awards are not live.  The show was taped back in January.   Whoops, the nominees were announced in January, the awads show is live!

Bill did a poll earlier about how much our traffic will drop as a result of Fringe not being on this Friday.  That silly poll and this silly follow up are not mocking the NAACP Image Awards.  In fact, compared to low-rated  and bubble show fan favorites (always scripted shows), no awards show generates much interest on our site.  Among our regular readership there’s relatively very little interest in the Emmys or Oscars.

I predict our traffic will go down ~20% this Saturday.  I think it would be closer to 40% except the people who love Fringe (and perhaps especially the people who love to hate Fringe) will be interested to see how the NAACP Image Awards compare.
