Our Renew / Cancel Index predicts potential renewal or cancellation for scripted broadcast primetime shows by the end of the 2010-11 season in May, 2011. (includes results from January 3-16, 2011):
|Program||Status||Renew/ Cancel Index|
|The Whole Truth||cancelled|
|No Ordinary Family||😳||0.63|
|Brothers & Sisters||😐 😐 😐||0.78|

|Better With You||😐 😐 😐||0.93|
V slid 10% in its second outing last week to just a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. The Visitor’s ships better be fueled up and ready to return home. It’s now more likely to be cancelled than renewed at the end of this season.
It’s hard to read Off The Map’s premiere week ratings. The premiere Wednesday’s 2.3 rating was weak, but a repeat scored a 2.0 rating on Thursday. Could it have gained enough sampling for an uptick this week? We’ll have to wait and see.
In another ratings pummeling by the Golden Globes, Brothers & Sisters series low rating didn’t advance its case for renewal. It’s still at the low end of the “toss up” range between renewal and cancellation.
With no new Better With You last week because of the Tucson memorial coverage we don’t know if its previous 2.5 rating was a fluke or a glimpse of things to come. It’s still a positive that ABC’s Paul Lee wants a second night of comedy next season. It’s currently on the high end of the “toss up” range.
Wrapping up, Detroit 1-8-7 is certain to be cancelled, and No Ordinary Family will need a miracle for renewal.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show’s new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It’s calculated by dividing a show’s new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show’s own network. The network’s average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.
