Call it the “Reverse Community,” CBS’s rookie sitcom How To Be A Gentleman premiered with ratings that would have made it the #2 scripted show on NBC last week, but it was CBS’s lowest rated sitcom, and CBS always cancels their lowest rated sitcom (or two, or three) to make room for new ones next season. The show’s now likely to be canceled.
Friday’s A Gifted Man is definitely the sick man of CBS rookie dramas. It’s certain to be canceled, but next week I ask the question “Will it survive until November?” Les Moonves, please keep it on the schedule until then!
As CBS’s lowest rated non-Friday scripted show The Good Wife shows the ratings pain CBS will endure for shiny awards. Unlike every other non-rookie drama on the network, it still has no syndication deal in place.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show’s new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It’s calculated by dividing a show’s new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show’s own network. The network’s average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.
