After eighteen weeks of the 2011-12 TV season (through 1/22/12), an NFC conference championship game and the premiere week of American Idol pushed Fox ahead of CBS in the advertiser prized adults 18-49 ratings for the season with a 3.3 average rating (up 15% vs. last season) to CBS’s 3.2 rating (up 3% vs. last season). ABC (even vs last season) and NBC (down 9% vs. last season) are currently tied in third with a 2.5 rating. Univision is in fifth with a 1.5 rating average (even). CW is sixth with a 0.8 rating average (down 19% vs. last season).
Among total viewers, CBS is comfortably ahead for the season averaging 12.19 million viewers. FOX is second with 9.10m, followed by ABC with 8.51m, NBC with 7.34m, Univision with 3.55m and CW with 1.80 million.
Note that these season to date ratings averages are “Most Current” ratings which is a combination of Live + 7 Day DVR viewing for weeks more than 2 weeks ago and Live + Same Day DVR viewing for the immediately preceding 2 weeks.
