On Friday March 20, 2009 when the Battlestar Galactica finale aired, it pulled in 2.364 million viewers who watched it live or the same night it aired on DVR.   But with a full week of DVR viewing included, NBC reports that it shot up to 3.1 million viewers, 2.1 million who were aged 25-54, and 2 million in the advertising-centric 18-49 demographic.  It was Sci Fi’s best performance of the year, and BSG‘s best outing in total viewers, viewers 18-49 and viewers 25-54 since February 4, 2005.

Additionally it was the #5 most-watched original series telecast in the network’s 16 year history among adults 25-54 and and the best performance for any original series in that age demographic since 2005.  It was the #4 most-watched telecast of all-time for Sci Fi with adults 18-49.
