With the NCAA basketball tournament filling 3+ nights of primetime, CBS edged Fox  for the adults 18-49 ratings crown for the week. There’s just one night of basketball in primetime this week (Saturday), so that’s unlikely to happen two weeks in a row.

With the return of Dancing With The Stars, ABC recovered from its embarrassing showing last week. Their 2.8 adults 18-49 rating for the week is probably at or just above what I’d expect them to average for the rest of the spring. Likewise, NBC’s 2.1 rating also seems like it’s at or just above what they’re likely to average. With those weekly averages, ABC is on track to edge NBC and finish third in the season’s 18-49 ratings.

Will update later with the weekly adults 18-34 and 25-54 ratings.

Note that the chart includes RATINGS not VIEWERS as was typical in our weekly network ratings posts prior to July, 2009.

Each rating point is a percentage of the US TV population in that demographic group and equals: 2.90 million viewers, 1.32 million adults 18-49, 0.68 million adults 18-34 and 1.24 million adults 25-54.
