Although the bill to delay the digital transition on February 17 has been delayed, it hasn’t delayed Nielsen from doing testing for the digital transition. These tests begin effective January 29 30th for January 28 29th data and are planed to run through March. The testing will delay the distribution of the fast national ratings used for the overnight reports by a couple of hours.

Nielsen won’t be distributing fast national data until 1pm ET. What this will mean in terms of when we’ll post overnight ratings? We’ll have to see how it goes, but it seems likely that this will push posting to somewhere in the 2-2:30P ET time frame.

In the event the digital transition winds up being delayed, and we imagine that will happen, Nielsen will stop the testing and pick it back up a few weeks prior to the new deadline.
