Assisted by a big Sunday Night Football game, NBC topped the weekly broadcast network average ratings for both the adults 18-49 and 18-34 demos in week 12 of the broadcast primetime ratings season. It didn’t hurt that the competition was airing plenty of repeats and holiday specials. Sadly for NBC, there’s only 2 more SNF’s left in the season, and except for two weeks of the Winter Olympics in February, the rest of the season is going to be grim. CBS, as is typical, topped the average primetime viewership for the week and edged NBC for adults 25-54 for the week.
Note that the chart includes RATINGS not VIEWERS as was typical in our weekly network ratings posts prior to July, 2009.
Each rating point is a percentage of the US TV population in that demographic group and equals: 2.90 million viewers, 1.32 million adults 18-49, 0.68 million adults 18-34 and 1.24 million adults 25-54.
