CBS’s Sunday primetime broadcast of the AFC Championship game is likely to be this year’s highest rated primetime telecast for adults 18-49 outside of the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately the historical ratings above sent out by CBS are household ratings and number of households only. Still, you can note how the audience has grown over the years. I’m not sure when the year to year alternation for the conference championships in primetime began, but that could certainly explain some of the year to year variance recently.
