ESPN NBA Viewership Up 74 Percent

ESPN is averaging 2,546,000 viewers through six NBA telecasts, an increase of 74 percent compared to last season (1,463,000 viewers for six telecasts).  The corresponding 1.9 rating is up 73 percent (1.1 rating) and household impressions have jumped 71 percent (1,928,000 vs. 1,130,000).  Additionally, ESPN’s Kia NBA Countdown averaged 1,232,000 viewers on Wednesday, Nov. 3, to become the network’s most-watched NBA pregame show since 2005 (1,215,000 viewers, Nov. 16).  ESPN’s NBA doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 5, also registered double-digit ratings gains.  Based on overnight ratings, ESPN’s Bulls/Celtics telecast was up 27 percent (1.9 vs. 1.5) and Clippers/Nuggets was up 15 percent (1.5 vs. 1.3) over the comparable windows last season.  (Ratings information provided by Nielsen)
