Play-by-Play Calls of All-Time; McCarver Adds To Unmatched Record of World Series by an Analyst

White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen Joins Coverage for Second Straight Year

6:30 PM ET Start Time for Game 3 Earliest Since 1987 Fall Classic

Game 1 Includes Special Open by Emmy Award-Winning Film Maker Ken Burns & Debut of MLB CableCam

New York, NY – FOX Sports’ exclusive coverage of Major League Baseball’s World Series begins Wednesday, Oct. 27 (7:30 PM ET), with Game 1 between the American League Champion Texas Rangers and the National League Champion San Francisco Giants live from AT&T Park.

Another highly-anticipated pitching showdown takes center stage for Game 1 as San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum and Texas’ Cliff Lee face-off. Also on deck, Emmy-Award winning documentary film maker Ken Burns contributes a special open to begin coverage of the MLB’s 106th World Series

In San Francisco, a new MLB CableCam will be a part of the 25 camera arsenal used to cover every angle of the Fall Classic. This state-of-the art innovation, positioned between the first and third base lines, takes views of the pitcher’s mound to home plate and in foul territory. Its use is restricted to dead ball situations where it would not interfere with game action.

The 2010 Fall Classic marks milestone achievements for MLB on FOX’s Emmy Award-winning broadcast team of announcer Joe Buck and analyst Tim McCarver as they call their record 13th World Series as a duo. Buck surpasses legendary announcers Vin Scully and Curt Gowdy for most World Series called by a play-by-play announcer with 13 while McCarver adds to his record setting achievement of 21 Fall Classic’s behind the mic.  Ken Rosenthal works his fifth World Series for FOX serving as in-game reporter and MLB Insider.

Chicago White Manager Ozzie Guillen joins FOX Sports’ World Series coverage for the second consecutive year. Each night, coverage begins live on-site from either San Francisco or Arlington with the MLB on FOX pregame show hosted by Chris Rose. Guillen and Eric Karros handle all pre and postgame analysis and are available to join Buck and McCarver in-game to offer their unique perspectives. Guillen also contributes to the FOX Deportes Spanish language broadcast of the World Series, where he calls several innings.

The series shifts to Arlington for Game 3 on Saturday, Oct. 30 and begins at the special time of 6:30 PM ET, the earliest start for any World Series Game since 1987. Weeknight contests kick-off at 7:30 PM ET with coverage of Game 4 on Sunday, Oct. 31 underway at 8:00 PM ET.

Game 3 also features the winners of the WORLD SERIES OF COSTUMES, a joint promotion between Major League Baseball and FOX Sports where families can submit pictures of their children’s Halloween costumes online. The winning costumes are judged and selected by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and judge Randy Jackson and shown on air during Game 3.  Log on to www.MLB.com/Halloween for more information.

FOX Sports’ social media campaign continues throughout the 2010 World Series. Fans can get behind-the-scenes photos, commentary and observations from Guillen, Karros, Rose, Buck, McCarver and Rosenthal before and during each World Series game broadcast. For instant updates, follow MLB on FOX on Twitter at http://twitter.com/MLBONFOX.
