Nielsen’s been feeding the TV ratings conspiracy buffs a steady stream of fodder for their rumor mills of late. 

A computer server failure that caused Nielsen’s national TV ratings to come to a grinding halt last week, appears to be contributing to some problems for local ratings in major TV markets this week. In a notice sent to clients Wednesday, Nielsen said it is reexamining the overnight ratings data for Sunday, May 3, in the metered TV markets, which account for the majority of U.S. TV viewing.
