With just a couple days left in the September-to-May TV season, NBC and CBS can each claim a primetime victory for 2017-18.

NBC will finish on top of the adults 18-49 rankings with a 2.2 rating. Its margin of victory — 0.7 over ABC, CBS and FOX, which all tied for second — is the largest since Nielsen introduced people meters in the late 1980s. NBC has led the 18-49 demo in four of the past five seasons.

CBS, meanwhile, will claim its 10th straight total-viewer win (and 15th in the last 16 season). It’s currently averaging 8.98 million viewers in primetime, a little bit ahead of NBC’s 8.87 million — despite NBC airing both the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics this season.

For the week of May 14, “Roseanne” finished first among adults 18-49 with a 2.6 rating, and “NCIS” topped the viewer chart with 12.71 million.
