“Beauty and the Beast” will end its run in 2016, The CW says.
The show’s fourth season, currently scheduled to air sometime in 2016, will be its last, the network says. It has never been a big ratings driver for the network — last season, which aired in the summer, averaged a meager 0.2 in adults 18-49 and 879,000 viewers.
Like all CW shows, it was produced in-house, in this case by CBS Studios. The final season will take the show up to 70 episodes and make for a decent-sized syndication or streaming package.
