Syfy has pulled the plug on its drama series “Dominion” after two seasons.
The news comes two weeks after the show wrapped its second season on Oct. 1, on a decidely not-all-wrapped-up note. Whatever the writers had in store for a third season, however, won’t come to pass.
“Dominion,” a continuation of the 2010 film “Legion,” suffered pretty heavy ratings declines in Season 2. It drew a 0.3 rating in adults 18-49 (same-day), down 47 percent from the first season. Total viewership was also off by more than 40 percent.
“Led by [creator] Vaun Wilmott, the talented cast, producers writers and crew of ‘Dominion’ have done a tremendous job bringing this ambitious, cinematic series to the screen over the past two seasons,” Syfy says in a statement. “We thank them.”
“Dominion” joins these shows in the cancellation afterlife for 2015-16.
