The first new network comedy of the fall to land a full-season order is … not the one most people would have expected at the start of the season.

Three weeks into its run, however, ABC’s “Dr. Ken” has earned a back-nine pickup thanks to steady ratings on Friday nights. The show premiered to a 1.5 same-day rating in adults 18-49 and has pulled down a 1.3 for each of its subsequent episodes.  It has matched or bettered its lead-in, “Last Man Standing,” every week.

“Dr. Ken” is the fourth new show of the season to get a full-season order, joining ABC’s “Quantico,” FOX’s “Rosewood” and NBC’s “Blindspot.”
