The final season of Friday Night Lights premieres tonight on NBC (it’s already finished its final season on DirecTV, and the DVD is out). It has the honor of being the first broadcast primetime show “saved” by DirecTV, and if DirecTV is to be believed it will be the last broadcast show they saved.

NBC obviously doesn’t expect much in the way of ratings. FNL has been scheduled to run only partially within the regular broadcast season for the past two years (last year it premiered on May 7).

Tonight it faces all original broadcast competition with Shark Tank, Smallville, Chaos and Kitchen Nightmares.

Last season’s Friday Night Lights premiere (5/7/10) drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Where will Friday Night Lights adults 18-49 rating finish tonight at 8pm?
