Game of Thrones second episode of season two averaged 3.8 million viewers in its initial telecast at 9pm, down about 100,000  from the 3.9 million for the premiere.  @TravisYanan noted for some context that the second episode of season two of True Blood was down about 300,000 viewers so the shows are on similar relative viewing trajectories.. But there already seemed no question about whether Game of Thrones will be renewed, the only question is when that announcement will come.

Meanwhile Mad Men viewership was also virtually steady in week two of the season with 2.8 million viewers (down from last week’s 2.9) and The Killing was steady (at least with rounding) with another week of 1.8 million viewers.

Check back sometime Tuesday morning and we’ll have the 18-49 demo info too in our regular Sunday night cable report.

Update: Lifetime’s The Client List averaged 2.8 million viewers in its premiere last night and a ~0.9 adults 18-49 rating.
