Discovery is bringing one of its signature shows, “MythBusters,” to a close in 2016.

The show embarks on its 14th season in January, and that will be the end of the line, the cable channel says. The final season premieres Jan. 9.

On the upside, co-host and executive producer Adam Savage tells EW (which broke the story) that he and fellow host/EP Jamie Hyneman have been preparing for a big sendoff. The show will choose “the most awesome example” of each type of myth it’s tackled in the past in the final episodes.

“MythBusters” premiered in 2003 and will have more than 260 episodes under its belt by the time it wraps. The show’s library will move to Discovery’s sister network Science Channel, which will feature a series-long marathon starting Dec. 23.

The show joins these series in ending or being canceled in 2015-16.
