Fear not, “Switched at Birth” fans: The Season 4 finale of the show next week won’t be the last one.
ABC Family has renewed the show for a fifth season, five days before the fourth-season finale on Monday. A return date hasn’t been set, but the channel it airs on will be called Freeform when it does.
“Every season ‘Switched at Birth’ continues to deliver fresh, relatable storylines that tackle important social issues, reflecting what our audience experiences daily,” says Karey Burke, head of programming at ABC Family. “We’re excited to see where [creator] Lizzy [Weiss] will take these characters next.”
Monday’s episode of “Switched at Birth” drew a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 952,000 viewers in the same-day ratings.
