In a premiere week in which none of their rookie shows bombed, plus a nice NFL over run on Sunday night put CBS at the top of the adults 18-49 ratings with a 3.3 average, as well as the most average viewers for week 1 of the broadcast season.

ABC and NBC were knotted at #2 for adults 18-49 with a 2.8 rating average for the week. Fox trailed in fourth with a 2.6 average.

The network’s average viewership is charted in millions of viewers, just like we report all other average viewership information on the site, and adults 18-49 is charted as ratings points. Note the units (million viewers on the left, rating on the right) below the bars.

Note that the chart includes both  AVERAGE VIEWERSHIP (on the left side) and ADULTS 18-49 RATINGS (on the right) using the same vertical axis scale.

Each adults 18-49 rating point is a percentage of the adults 18-49 US TV population and equals 1.315 million adults 18-49.
