CBS WINS PREMIERE WEEK IN VIEWERS FOR THE SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR, MORE THAN DOUBLING LAST SEASON’S MARGIN OF VICTORY
CBS is Up +4% in Adults 18-49 From Last Year;
The Only Network to Post Year-to-Year Growth
CBS won premiere week in viewers for the seventh consecutive year, more than doubling last season’s margin of victory, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for premiere week ending Sept. 27.
CBS averaged 10.94 million viewers, equal to its premiere week last year and was +2.00 million viewers ahead of second-place NBC (vs. +760,000 a year ago). CBS is the only network to post year-to-year growth among adults 18-49, up +4% from a year ago (2.5/08 from 2.4/08) and was even in adults 25-54 (3.2/09). CBS finished only 0.2 rating points from first place in adults 18-49 after finishing 0.6 behind during premiere week last year.
