The first rookie series premiere of the broadcast “pre-“season is tonight’s (9/13) Ringer, as Sarah Michelle Gellar returns to series television on the CW.

How do you think it will rate?

Here’s some handicapping information:

  • For the first time since we began the site (4 years ago) the CW held their earliest season premieres until the week prior to the “official” season opening. In recent years they have premiered some shows 2 weeks “early” (last season Hellcats, Nikita and The Vampire Diaries premiered two weeks prior to the start of the season). Will that help or hurt them this week?
  • Last year’s CW rookie premiere adults 18-49 ratings were: Hellcats (1.2, following America’s Next Top Model), and Nikita (1.4, following The Vampire Diaries). 90210 isn’t going to rate as highly as either of last season’s rookie lead ins.

No poll for the CW’s 90210 or NBC’s Parenthood, which also have season premieres tonight, but feel free to make your guesses in the comments.
