FOX News Channel (FNC) ranked number 2 in primetime last week among total viewers (5/4-5/10) with coverage of a number of major news events events including the shooting in Garland Texas as well as three new presidential candidate announcements including Carly Fiorina, Governor Mike Huckabee and Dr. Ben Carson.
FNC outperformed its cable news competitors. MSNBC ranked 31st in primetime. CNN fell from its highest rated week (8th) to its lowest (38th) in primetime total viewers, dropping 65 percent week-to-week. In primetime, CNN fell behind MSNBC, OWN, TruTV, Syfy and Hallmark. MSNBC ranked #31 in primetime. In total day, FNC was fourth and MSNBC, CNN ranked 26th and MNBC was 31t.
