I don’t watch any of the cable news programs, but Glenn Beck holds a special place in the TV by the Numbers history. Thanks to a link from Drudge Report,  the post about the ratings for the first show after Beck called Obama a racist generated our highest single day and two-day page view totals at the time. That record held up for nearly two years before we bested it last month.

The big news this morning is that MSNBC’s Mark Halperin called president Obama a nickname for Richard, and MSNBC promptly apologized and suspended him.  The conspiracy theorists among you can ponder whether this was actually just a shrewd strategic move to lure a few Fox News viewers to MSNBC. It does make for a somewhat interesting bookend to Glenn Beck’s career on Fox News Channel, even if it grabs attention away from Beck’s final show tonight.
