Beyond a few summer basketball games, all was quiet on the Friday cable ratings front.
The biggest game of the night came from the New York Knicks playing the New Orleans Pelicans on ESPN for a 0.7 rating in adults 18-49. This was a good deal stronger than the second place game, in which the LA Lakers battled the Chicago Bulls for a 0.4. Finally, “Love After Lockup” rounded out the top 3, bringing in a 0.3 for WETV. This was a score one-tenth of a point higher than its performance last Friday.
A slew of episodes of “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” ate up a surprising chunk of the chart, with the highest performance coming in at 0.3. Last week, the Food Network series maxed out at 0.2. Meanwhile, “Live PD” found itself all the way down at 0.2 after having led the entirety of the top 25 just recently.
It was joined at 0.2 by History Channel’s “Ancient Aliens” as it maintained its previous score. A special 30th anniversary celebration of “Seinfeld” also consumed a large portion of the chart, with most of its entries occupying the 0.2 range.
