Once again, it was the NCAA tournament live broadcasts that dominated the Friday cable ratings last week. Specifically, it was TBS’ broadcast of the Villanova vs West Virginia game that scored the highest spot of the night with a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 4.78 million viewers. The later game between Purdue and Texas Tech followed closely behind as well with a 0.8, while the network’s additional coverage raked in some more 0.8 – 0.5s throughout the night.

A special episode of the Discovery Channel’s “Gold Rush” saw the series ticking up one-tenth from its previous 0.4 to a 0.5. Also on the Discovery Channel, however, “Gold Rush: White Water” fell one-tenth for the second week in a row, dropping from a 0.4 to a 0.3. Meanwhile, HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” maintained its 0.4 streak and A&E’s “Live PD” ticked up one-tenth to a 0.7.
