Once again, the MLB found itself perched atop the Friday cable ratings.
It should come as little surprise that TBS’ broadcast of the Washington Nationals vs. the St. Louis Cardinals game took the top spot of the night. After all, the 1.1 rating in adults 18-49 it scored was more than twice that of any other Friday broadcast, while also topping the 0.8 of last week’s Nationals vs. Dodgers match.
To take second place, ESPN aired a college football game between the Virginia Cavaliers and the Miami Hurricanes, which scored a 0.5, while Discovery’s “Gold Rush” took third place when it premiered at 0.5, one-tenth of a point lower than it did last year.
Further down, “Live PD” remained in fourth place for another week, with its 0.5 intact. “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal” brought Adult Swim yet another consecutive 0.3, where it sat just above a “Gold Rush” special at the same rating. On Food Network, back-to-back episodes of “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” broke free from a cycle of 0.2’s, reaching 0.3 once more, while “Real Time with Bill Maher” returned to HBO holding onto its previous 0.3.
The “Live PD” clip show posted a 0.2, where “Love After Lockup” of WETV found itself after falling from 0.3. Towards the bottom of the chart, MTV’s “Ridiculousness” clung to a 0.2, coming out slightly ahead of “Taken At Birth” on TLC.
