Last night’s season-opening “Monday Night Football” doubleheader easily won the Monday cable ratings this week, despite being slightly down again from its opener last year.

ESPN’s back-to-back broadcasts of the Lions vs Jets and Rams vs Raiders NFL earned the network the night’s top 2 spots with 3.8 and 3.7 ratings in the adults 18-49 demo. While these broadcasts scored significantly higher than any of the night’s other shows, they were lower than the 4.2 and 3.9s that last year’s “MNF” debut doubleheader had raked in on the network.

Elsewhere, VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” held steady with another 1.0, while USA’s “WWE Monday Night Raw” (1.0) ticked down a tenth from its previous 1.0 to a 0.9 peak rating this time around.

On AMC, both “Better Call Saul” (0.4) and “Lodge 49” (0.1) were even with what they had scored a week ago. The Discovery Channel’s “Diesel Brothers” similarly maintained a 0.4 once again. Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Orange County” returned from a week off, up one-tenth from a 0.5 to a 0.6.
