The final “Walking Dead” episode of 2017 improved a little bit in the ratings, but the first half of the season is still way down from last year.
Sunday’s episode drew a 3.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.89 million viewers, up from 3.3 and 7.47 million the previous week. The first half of Season 8 as a whole averaged 3.8 in the 18-49 demographic, down 33 percent from 5.7 for the same time frame last year.
“Talking Dead” scored a 1.4, up from 1.2 the previous week.
Elsewhere Sunday, “Shameless” (0.5) slipped a tenth of a point in adults 18-49 but was steady in viewers with 1.52 million. “Outlander” finished its third season at 0.3, in line with its 18-49 average, and 1.43 million viewers, off slightly from a week earlier.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” held steady at 1.0 (and rose in viewers to 2.64 million), while “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (0.5) rose a tenth. Hallmark’s movie “Sharing Christmas” scored a 0.6 and 3.69 million viewers, on par with the previous Sunday’s movie.
