HBO’s “Watchmen” made its series premiere Sunday, but it was “The Walking Dead” that topped the night’s cable ratings.
The AMC zombie series reclaimed the night’s no. 1 spot with a series low 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.48 million viewers, down one-tenth from its previous episode’s 1.3 rating.
TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” placed second with a 0.9, back up a tenth from its 0.8 last Sunday. E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” similarly ticked up from a 0.4 to a 0.5. Meanwhile, the series premiere of HBO’s “Watchmen” raked in a 0.3 with 799,000 viewers.
That’s a pretty good start for the new series, and the premiere reportedly made up for its linear performance, as replays and streaming numbers pushed its audience up to 1.5 million viewers. That makes “Watchmen” HBO’s most-watched series premiere on its digital platforms since “Westworld’s” initial debut back in 2016.
