Final broadcast primetime live + same-day ratings for Thursday, August 22, 2019

Every single broadcast had a shift between the preliminary ratings in adults 18-49 and the finals today. The source of the changes was the NFL Preseason on FOX, which itself shifted from a 0.9 to a 0.8. On CBS, a rerun of “The Big Bang Theory” adjusted from 0.8 to 0.6, a rerun of “Young Sheldon” did the same, “Big Brother” adjusted from 1.3 to 1.2, and “FBI” adjusted from 0.5 to 0.4.

Over at ABC, back-to-back episodes of “Holey Moley” adjusted from 0.7 to 0.6 and 0.6 to 0.5, while “Reef Break” adjusted from 0.4 to 0.3. On NBC, “The Wall” shifted from 1.0 to 0.5, “Ellen’s Game of Games” shifted from 1.1 to 0.5, and “Law & Order: SVU” moved from 0.7 to 0.4. Finally, at the CW, “The Outpost” went from 0.3 to 0.1, while both episodes of “Two Sentence Horror Stories” went from 0.2 to 0.1. Viewer averages have been updated accordingly.

Downward adjustments in adults 18-49 are in red.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience):
The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing:
Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
