Tuesday cable ratings: MLB leads, ‘Teen Mom’ stays steady

This week, the MLB was once again able to capitalize on the loss of “WWE SmackDown,” taking an easy win in the Tuesday cable ratings.

As such, there was little to compete with FOX Sports’ broadcast of the 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 scored by the Houston Astros vs. Tampa Bay Rays game. It didn’t quite reach the heights of the 1.3 picked up by TBS with its match between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Washington Nationals last week, but it did stand head and shoulders above anything else that aired Tuesday night.

Its closest competition came from “The Real Housewives of Orange County” on Bravo, which rose from 0.4 to 0.5 as it ascended from the third to the second slot. “Teen Mom” on MTV rounded out the top 3 behind it, slipping down a spot on the chart despite holding out at 0.5.

Further down, “Mayans M.C.” provided FX with its reliable 0.4, while the “BET Hip Hop Awards” faltered, bringing BET a 0.4 after last year’s 0.5. On Adult Swim, “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal” posted the same 0.3 it scored on Monday, and “Outdaughtered” continued at 0.3 on TLC. “Tosh.O” ticked up week-to-week, rising to 0.3 from 0.2 on Comedy Central, while “Bering Sea Gold” on Discovery, “Valley of the Damned” on Investigation Discovery, and “Greenleaf” on OWN all remained at 0.2.
