Without the NCAA this week, CBS’ dominance over the Friday night primetime ratings was less pronounced.
That being said, it did still outperform every other network. “MacGyver” returned with a new episode to score a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49, down from the 0.7 it last received. It only went up from there, with “Hawaii Five-O” and “Blue Bloods” each picking up a pair of 0.8’s. Although these were the highest performances of the night, each show’s latest outing had previously received a 0.9.
Next up was ABC, with “Fresh Off the Boat” outperforming its last episode, rising from a 0.5 to a 0.6. “Speechless” improved by the same margin, recovering from the 0.4 it dropped to last week to reach 0.5 once more. A new episode of “20/20” garnered a 0.7 across both of the hours it aired, matching its most recent score.
On NBC, “Blindspot” picked up from 0.4 to 0.5, while “The Blacklist” kept stable at 0.6. “Dateline” also benefitted quite well from their lead-in, moving up from 0.4 to 0.6. As for FOX, without a new episode of “Last Man Standing,” the network was relegated to fourth place for the night. “The Cool Kids” did return to its typical 0.7 from 0.6, however, although “Proven Innocent” continued treading water at 0.4.
Finally, on The CW, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” breathed its last, shifting up from last week’s 0.1 to a 0.2 as the series concluded its run. This was followed by a concert special entitled “Yes, It’s Really Us Singing,” which picked up a 0.1. Both scores were fitting in the end for the critically-acclaimed but under-watched series.
|Adults 18-49 rating/share||0.7/4||0.6/4||0.6/3||0.6/3||0.2/1|
|Total Viewers (millions)||7.53||3.28||3.60||2.79||0.54|
Late-night metered market ratings to come.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
