CBS managed to pull off yet another strong Friday night.
The main reason for this was back-to-back, brand new episodes of “Hawaii Five-O,” each of which scored a 0.8 rating in adults 18-49 to match its performance from last week. With no “Blue Bloods,” that meant the sole other scripted drama CBS aired was “MacGyver,” scoring a 0.8 with 6.57 million viewers to improve on the previous episode’s 0.7.
On FOX, the story was far less consistent. “Last Man Standing” predictably won the night, with a 1.0 rating that marked a decline of 0.1 from the show’s top performance last week, while “The Cool Kids” returned with a 0.7, down from its last episode’s 0.9. The channel’s new legal drama, “Proven Innocent” performed similarly in its second week, as the show slipped from 0.5 to 0.4, with a sizable 0.3 drop-off from its lead-in. This made it the lowest-rated scripted original of the week.
Elsewhere, NBC aired back-to-back episodes of “The Blacklist” for a pair of 0.6’s, keeping steady with its performance from its last few airings. “Dateline” also managed to match with its previous 0.5 after taking a week off. On ABC, “Fresh Off the Boat” ticked down from 0.7 to 0.6, while “Speechless” landed yet another 0.5. The CW aired reruns of “Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” for a set of 0.2’s.

Late-night metered market ratings to come.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
