This week, there was a new champion at the top of the Friday primetime broadcast ratings.
CBS’ “Hawaii Five-O” climbed to the top of the 8 p.m. hour by holding out at its 0.7 rating in adults 18-49 and drawing 7.32 million viewers. This was a mild increase from the 7.13 million viewers it drew in its last final, and enough to allow it to outrank last week’s champion, “WWE SmackDown.” The rest of CBS’ hand was strong, as well, with both “Magnum P.I.” and “Blue Bloods” holding out at 0.6. The 7.47 million viewers of “Blue Bloods” ensured that it once again held the night’s largest audience.
FOX stumbled a bit with “WWE SmackDown,” crumbling from the 0.9 with 2.61 million viewers it picked up in its final down to 0.7 with 2.35 million. ABC suffered a tiny loss of its own; “American Housewife,” returning after a week off, slipped from 0.7 to 0.6. On its tail, however, “Fresh Off the Boat” maintained a 0.5, and a two-hour episode of “20/20” rose from 0.5 to 0.6.
Over at NBC, “The Blacklist” was another casualty of the night’s losses, hemorrhaging one-tenth of a point week-to-week as it fell to 0.5. “Dateline,” on the other hand, ascended from 0.5 to 0.6, rising from 3.39 million viewers to 3.59.
On the CW, “Charmed” regained the ground it lost last week, bouncing back to 0.2 from 0.1. This was followed by “Dynasty,” which failed to gain from its lead-in and remained mired at 0.1.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
