“American Housewife” had a good Friday night, posting its best numbers of the season thus far.
The ABC comedy series racked up a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49, with a viewership of 3.32 million. While not exactly the strongest performance of the night, this was notably better than last week, when it stalled at 0.5. Directly on its heels, “Fresh Off the Boat” recovered from a few weeks of losses by rising from 0.3 to 0.5, and a two-hour broadcast of “20/20” fared similarly, moving from 0.4 to 0.5.
The actual winner of the night, insomuch as there was one, was FOX’s “WWE Friday Night Smackdown.” The wrestling series landed a 0.8 in the demo with 2.44 million viewers, outranking all of its competition, but this was down from the 1.0 with 2.88 million viewers of last week. In the three weeks it has been on the air, the show has seen a 0.6 drop-off in its ratings.
CBS was a second-place contender, starting with “Hawaii Five-O” at 0.6, a decrease of one-tenth of a point week-to-week. As with last Friday, it had the night’s second largest audience, though there was a noticeable decline between its previous 7.09 million and its most recent 6.21 million. “Magnum P.I.” also fell one-tenth of a point from 0.6 to 0.5, while “Blue Bloods” held at the 0.6 it ticked down to in last week’s finals.
On NBC, “The Blacklist” stumbled from 0.5 to 0.4, even as “Dateline” held onto its 0.6 to win the 9 p.m. timeslot. Meanwhile, over at the CW, “Charmed” remained steady with its premiere, retaining a 0.2 but increasing in viewership from 649,000 to 764,000. “Dynasty” brought up the rear with the weakest score of the night, clutching to its 0.1.

Definitions:
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
