It was another mostly typical Sunday night in the primetime ratings this week, as NBC’s broadcast of the Cowboys vs. Eagles “SNF” game led with a preliminary 5.9 average rating in adults 18-49. Despite winning the night, however, the “SNF” broadcast is down from the 6.7 preliminary rating (and 7.4 final) that last week’s “SNF” game had scored.
Elsewhere, CBS’ primetime lineup benefitted from a late-afternoon NFL overrun (4.7), starting with “60 Minutes,” which posted an inflated 2.4. “God Friended Me” followed it and was up three-tenths from a 0.8 to a 1.1, while “NCIS: Los Angeles” (0.8) and “Madam Secretary” (0.6) both grew a tenth week-to-week.
Following a steady “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (0.8), ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” returned from a week off to a new series low 0.6. The network rounded out its night with a “20/20” special featuring Michelle Obama (0.7), and the “Country Music’s Biggest Stars: In the Spotlight” special (0.4) at 10 p.m. Both specials were on par with how “Shark Tank” and “The Alec Baldwin Show” had been performing in the 18-49 demo in the same time slots so far this season.
Without the help of an NFL lead-in, FOX’s “The Simpsons” (1.0) tied a season low at 8 p.m. “Bob’s Burgers” (1.0) and “Family Guy” (1.0) were down from their episodes a week ago as well, and “REL” fell back down to a 0.5.
On the CW, “Supergirl” slipped from its previous 0.4 to a 0.3. “Charmed” held steady with another 0.3.
|Adults 18-49 rating/share||5.3/20||1.7/6||0.7/3||0.6/3||0.3/1|

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
