A late-afternoon NFL overrun resulted in CBS’ entire Sunday night primetime lineup being delayed, starting with “60 Minutes,” which posted an inflated 2.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

Coming off the “60 Minutes” lead-in, the series premiere of “God Friended Me” scored a 1.4 with 10.45 million viewers, up one-tenth from how “Wisdom in the Crowd” premiered in the same spot last year and up even more significantly in viewers from the 8.83 million that “Wisdom” raked in. However, the numbers for “God Friended Me” are expected to adjust down slightly, which means it will likely come in even closer to the “Wisdom” premiere in the finals tomorrow morning.

The return of “NCIS: Los Angeles” followed “GFM” with a 1.1, down two-tenths from its premiere a year ago. The season premiere of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (0.8) kicked off an otherwise quiet night for ABC, which was filled out by a broadcast of 2013’s “Frozen” (0.6) and a “Shark Tank” (0.5) rerun.

On FOX, the “Simpsons” (1.8) season premiere benefitted from an NFL overrun on the network as well, while the season premieres of “Bob’s Burgers” (1.2) and “Family Guy” (1.2) were both down one-tenth year-to-year. “REL” (0.8) rounded out the night for FOX with its time-period premiere.

Elsewhere, NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” (5.5) coverage was, in the preliminaries at least, up four-tenths from its “SNF” broadcast a year ago (it adjusted up to a 5.8 in the finals), but down slightly from last week’s initial “SNF” rating (5.7).

Network averages:

Adults 18-49 rating/share 4.5/19 1.9/8 1.4/5 0.6/3
Total Viewers (millions) 13.56 11.16 3.82 3.22

: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience):
The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing:
Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
