Broadcast primetime live + same-day ratings for Thursday, August 22, 2019

Due to several live NFL pre-emptions last night, most of Thursday’s preliminary primetime ratings are going to adjust down in the finals later today.
With that being said, CBS’ “Big Brother” is currently sitting as the night’s clear demo winner, with the same 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 as its most recent Wednesday and Sunday night broadcasts. Its 5.13 million viewers also marks a new season high for the CBS series, if it manages to hold in the finals.
Elsewhere, ABC’s “Holey Moley” capped off its first season with back-to-back episodes last night, and scored 0.7 and 0.6 ratings in the 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. hours. Pending updates, that puts the “Holey Moley” finale up from the 0.5s it has been posting in recent weeks. A new “Reef Break” followed “Holey Moley” with a 0.4 at 10 p.m., also up from its last outing’s 0.2.
Meanwhile, FOX’s broadcast of the Dolphins vs. Jaguars NFL preseason game averaged a 0.9 rating and 3.46 million viewers across 3 hours. As of now, that puts it considerably lower than the 1.4 and 5.3 million viewers that FOX’s broadcast of the Seahawks vs. Vikings game scored this past Sunday.
On the CW, “The Outpost” is currently up two-tenths from its previous 0.1 to a 0.3. “Two Sentence Horror Stories” (0.2) is also up a tenth week-to-week.
|Adults 18-49 rating/share||0.9/5||0.9/5||0.9/5||0.6/3||0.2/1|
|Total Viewers (millions)||4.41||4.32||3.46||2.97||0.93|

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
