CBS was indisputably the champion of the Thursday cable ratings.
The network kicked the night off with an episode of “Love Island,” which picked up a 0.5 rating in adults 18-49. This was one-tenth of a point below its performance both yesterday and the week before, meaning the reality series only placed fourth in its timeslot. The real breadwinner for the network was once again “Big Brother” as it matched its powerful 1.0 from last week, drawing 3.79 million viewers to post the strongest numbers of the entire night. “Elementary” served as a chaser at 0.5, continuing its gradual week-to-week rise, this time up from 0.4.
On FOX, “MasterChef” won the 9 p.m. timeslot by delivering a 0.7 rating. This was down from its 0.8 final last week, a fate it shared with “Spin the Wheel,” which fell from 0.6 to 0.5. NBC, meanwhile, aired a new episode of “Hollywood Game Night” for a 0.5 with 2.41 million viewers, down just a bit from the 0.5 with 2.67 million viewers it drew last week. “Hollywood Game Night” was sandwiched between reruns of “The Wall” at 0.6 and “Law & Order: SVU” at 0.3.
The downticks present in ABC’s summer lineup last week largely continued on Thursday night, starting with “Holey Moley.” The gameshow was down from 0.8 to 0.6, presenting a theme for the night. “Family Food Fight” fell from 0.5 all the way to 0.3, while the recent recovery of “Reef Break” was broken when it slipped from 0.4 back to 0.3.
The CW rounded out the night, starting with “iZombie” at its consistent 0.2 with 0.73 million viewers. “The Outpost” was similarly steady in the second week of its season, continuing at 0.1.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
