Broadcast primetime live + same-day ratings for Tuesday, April 5, 2016

The numbers for Tuesday, which feature FOX getting a bit of a bump from an “American Idol” retrospective and NBC slipping in part because of a “Voice” clip show:

“NCIS” claimed Tuesday’s top adults 18-49 rating with a 2.0, even with its most recent episode. It was able to move to the top spot thanks to “The Voice” airing a clip show and coming in at 1.3, well below its usual rating.

The rest of CBS’ lineup, however, was down a little. “NCIS: New Orleans” (1.7) slipped a tenth from its last episode, and “Limitless” (1.1) was off by two tenths. ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat” (1.1) and “Agents of SHIELD” (0.9) also dipped, while “The Real O’Neals” was even with last week at 1.0.

NBC was likewise down following “The Voice,” with “Chicago Med” sliding 0.3 to a 0.5 and “Chicago Fire” (1.6) down a tenth. FOX’s “American Idol: American Dream” documentary scored a 1.4 for its 90 minutes, giving the network a better-than-average Tuesday. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” also rose a tenth to 0.9. The CW’s “iZombie” came in at 0.4, down a tenth to a season low.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.

The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. 
Time Shifted Viewing:
 Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
