NBC won the Tuesday primetime ratings this week, despite its newest freshman drama premiering in underwhelming fashion.
“Ellen’s Game of Games” kicked the night off for the network with a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49, matching its episode from a week ago. “This is Us” followed by ticking down a tenth week-to-week, tying its series low 1.7, while the series premiere of “The Village” grabbed a low 0.9 with 4.91 million viewers.
Right out the gate, that puts “The Village” below both the recent 1.0s that “New Amsterdam” has been scoring in the same time slot the past few weeks, and “Amsterdam’s” overall 1.2 season average.
Elsewhere, the series premiere of FOX’s “Mental Samurai” grabbed a 0.7 with 2.28 million viewers. That was down slightly from the 0.8 that “MasterChef Junior” scored as its lead-in, but is on par with how the “MasterChef Junior” season premiere’s second hour performed last week.
Meanwhile, it was a fairly down night across the board for ABC. “American Housewife” (0.8), “The Kids Are Alright” (0.6), and “Black-ish” (0.6) all returned down two-tenths from their most recent episodes. “Splitting Up Together” managed to stay even with another 0.6, but the same could not be said for “The Rookie,” which ticked back down from a 0.8 to a 0.7.
On the CW, “Roswell, New Mexico” rose one-tenth from its previous 0.2 to a 0.3, and “The Flash” matched its 0.5 from last Tuesday. CBS took the night off with “NCIS,” “FBI,” and “NCIS: New Orleans” reruns.
